Art of the Fly 2021 - Urbana-Champaign Regional Airport, IL
Road to Nowhere is selected for Art of the Fly program from 40 North and University of Illinois - Willard Airport.
“Art provides a gateway to local culture and nothing welcomes someone to CU quite like a piece of local art! 40 North is thrilled to announce a new collaboration with University of Illinois - Willard Airport called Art on the Fly. This brand new program will select work from two local artists that will be reproduced on vinyl and adhered to two large recessed walls adjacent to the security checkpoint. Whether arriving or departing, Art on the Fly reflects the uniqueness of this community and welcomes, amuses, and inspires travelers of all kinds.”
EKAH | “Road to Nowhere” | graphite & digital painting
"The illustration was created as part of an animated, lenticular triptych, which depicts a person’s life, from childhood to adulthood, as one moves through one's life dreaming about traveling to faraway places. Even when one has traveled many miles the dreams and the destination remain the same. The image was drawn in graphite, then scanned and digitally painted to add color.”
